Valentine’s Day is just a little over two weeks away, so today’s post is centered around the topic of love! And pink, which is basically my love language in a single color. 😉 Speaking of love, over the weekend Justin and I saw the movie, The Greatest Showman, a story about romance, betrayal, forgiveness, acceptance and rising to the top despite adversity. Go see The Greatest Showman, if not now, then download the soundtrack and make plans to for Valentine’s Day!

I’m usually not a big movie goer, but something about the trailer peeked my interest. So, when the forecast called for rain, Justin and I saw the perfect opportunity for a Sunday matinee at our local theater. Afterwards, we listened to the soundtrack non-stop, then saw it again two days later. I’ve been trying to nail down the reasons why this movie made such an impact on me, why I simply had to see it in theaters, twice. The overall message was that of hope; hope that there is still goodness out there. That with infinite love and passion all things are possible! Having felt a bit defeated and drained in the past weeks, it gave me a renewed spirit and fresh perspective. My husband, who’s as manly as they come, left feeling inspired too!

With spring on the horizon, there are so many beautiful, warm weather pieces arriving every day. When I came across this top from Nordstrom, my heart skipped a beat. A large bow, pearl cuff buttons, blousy sleeves and candy stripes bring vintage charm to a poplin top made modern with its plunging back! It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day; a bit of sex appeal without being too scandalous! While it would also pair beautifully with a pair of high-waisted, white denim crops, I paired it with high-waited flares and nude pumps. Below I’ve included a handful of tops similar to the one featured in today’s post. Click the below images for details.

To keep with the bow theme, I wore a pair of beautiful pearls my sister-in-law gifted me for Christmas. You can never go wrong with a pair of pearls, especially when complete with a bow accent!

While Justin and I have neither been ones to make a big fuss over Valentine’s Day, this year we’ve decided to get dressed-up and celebrate the occasion. For months, I’ve had my eye on a sequin dress and wanted an excuse to purchase it.

Do you have any plans for Valentine’s Day this year? Growing up my mom would go over and beyond to make every holiday special, thus Valentine’s was no exception! She would usually have candy, chocolate, cards, lipstick and other nic-naks displayed across the kitchen table the morning of. Now married, I do the same for my husband. 🙂 In a way, it makes me feel like a kids again while also keeping my mothers traditions alive! Come to think of it… I may sneak a little gram her way this year?! Hmmm….
