Happy Saturday, friends! As some of you might have seen via Instagram, last weekend I had the privilege of hosting the relaunch of Belk’s young contemporary department at the Columbiana Centre in South Carolina. Being from the small town of Monroe, North Carolina, where Belk®opened it’s first store in 1888, you can imagine how excited I was to partner with a company that hits so close to home (literally). I mean… before the Belk Brother’s no one knew Monroe was on a map, so it’s kinda our claim to fame. *hand over eyes emoji*
As you all know the 70’s are pretty much alive and thriving in the world of fashion, and Belk’s® young contemporary department is certainly on board with the trend. Each piece is pretty much a throwback to the decades-old silhouettes like: flares, fringe, embroidery, suede, and flowing, floral print dresses.
For the relaunch I wore this adorable garnet and black embroidered dress, which is from a line within the department called Flying Tomato’s (they have the CUTEST pieces y’all). Actually, I chose this dress without even realizing it was the University of South Carolina’s colors, and that I would be in the heart of the college town and on game day at that, ha! Needless to say, I fit right in with all the local fans. btw, UFC has some die hard fans you guys. I’ve never seen so many granny’s decked out in college gear before!
For this look, I kept things simple with a bold lip and felt floppy hat. In fact, I had been in search of a black floppy hat for a month or so before I discovered this one at Belk®. I couldn’t seem to find one that had it the right amount of flop (haha, you ladies know what I mean). I also picked up this Oh M G! Cardigan (haha love its name), denim vest, and this cowl neck poncho for the fall! You’ll have to check back to see how I style them :).
It was so fun helping ladies create outfits, and layer pieces from within the department. I’ve never really considered “styling” pur se, but isn’t that essentially what bloggers do? No?! Regardless I just love fashion you guys!
Those who made purchases that day received a gift bag complimentary of Belk®. The bags were filled with some really neat takeaways, which included: a Kate Spade note pad & pen, an external charger, Laura Mercier lip balm, sunnies, tumbler, and lastly a portable speaker! Such fun things, right?! A huge thank you to all of the sponsors for their contributions.
This post is sponsored by Belk®, but all opinions are my own.

Looks like so much fun! Those swag bags are legit! Kindof sad I didn’t get one of those. Such an awesome collaboration, girlfriend. xoxo
