Today I’m taking cues from the luxurious and perpetually polished Blair Waldorf! While I didn’t watch Gossip Girl until years after its last season aired (thank you Netflix), I too fell in love with the signature prim and proper aesthetic of Leighton’s character, Queen Bee.

It’s no secret that blush is my all time color crush. In fact, last week I professed my love for the sophisticated hue in a blog post (here) dedicated to my favorite blush pieces for the fall. Featured in that post, was a beautiful pink turtleneck from Black House White Market, which would also pair perfectly with this BCBG skirt. Its  thick wool fabric is more suiting for the cold winter months ahead.  Here in North Carolina the seasons are in transition, so to keep comfortable I chose to pair this skirt with a J.Crew cashmere sweater.

As some of you may have seen on Instagram, last month I had the opportunity to host the ‘Girls’ Night Out’ event at Belk South Park here in Charlotte, NC. It was at the event that I purchased this BCBG skirt! The fringe detail and delicate colors immediately caught my eye, but the real deal breaker was its price: $52! It was marked down 70% in light of the event that evening. Nothing makes me happier than finding quality designer pieces for a fraction of the retailed price.

To accessorize this look, I keep things classic yet trendy by adding a pair of Nordstrom Pearl Ear jackets (only $38!) and a simple string of pearls that I received as a graduation gift form my father. I’ve linked a similar pearl necklace from Nordstrom Rack that is priced at $10. You’re welcome.

To pull everything together, I opted for navy sheers and booties. A navy shoe is not commonly considered a wardrobe staple like that of black, nude, and brown, but it is a color I deem worthy of owning. I find myself wearing navy a lot in the fall and winter months, so for me it was worth investing in a comfortable and classic pair.

This look was shot at the beautiful Duke Mansion where my fiancé and I are set to wed on June 4, 2016. You can read all about our engagement and wedding planning journey, here.  Also, the property couldn’t have been more fitting for this Blair Waldorf inspired look, right?
