As a style aficionado I am always trying to incorporate upcoming trends & colors into my wardrobe before they become mainstream; therefore, when Pantone unveiled the 2015 Color of the Year on December 4th, I was immediately inspired!  You may not have heard of Pantone, but the color pros have been used as an industry resource for decades.  In 1999, after announcing the color of the millennium (silver) there was so much public interest that Pantone decided to name a color every year based on their extensive research in fashion and film industries.  Pretty cool, right?!  In fact, they are  are working with Sephora to bring the predicated shade to your lips, lids, and cheeks according to Leatrice Eisman, Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute.

So, what is the predicted year round, multi-seasonal ‘it’ color for 2015, you ask?  According to the color authorities it’s (drum roll) .  .  .  M A R S A L A!   Yup, I am pretty excited about it myself.  In years past I have experimented with the reddish-amber color on my lips, lids, and nails, and feel that it highlights my features and pale skin well!  It’s also great for the neutralist crowd (#guilty), because it pairs great with warm taupes, grays, earthy browns, golden yellow, and my favorite, turquoise!

Have fun incorporating this color into wardrobes.  I would be very interested in knowing how you all plan on styling it!
